Progress Report of Cyrill Bachmann

Why did you choose to do your apprenticeship as a Business Merchant at ZFV?
Before I applied for this apprenticeship, I brought myself up to date with the information on the ZFV website. I looked at the photos of the different companies and got to know the history. I got a very positive overall picture of ZFV. The interview convinved me entirely that I would like to do my apprenticeship here.

What expectations did you have at the beginning of your apprenticeship?
I was aware that it would mean a change. The change of being at school and then being immersed in the world of work is always difficult. Therefore it was important for me to build a good relationship with working colleagues from the very beginning and to get accustomed to the daily tasks in business as quickly as possible.

What surprised you in a positive way?
The cheerful people, whether it be at the headquarters or in the companies themselves. I often heard that people in office jobs were normally moody and bad-tempered.

What are or were the greatest challenges during your apprenticeship at ZFV?
A very big challenge for me was the change from school to business. I am in the company for 3 days a week and the other two days are spent at school. It was a bit tough at the beginning to find the right working rhythm.

What was your biggest moment of success during your apprenticeship at ZFV?
I think it is my own personal development and the positive feedback that I often received from my superiors. I find it easier to approach people now than before. I have become more communicative and my social graces have improved in everyday situations.

What would you like to do in the future, repectively after finishing your apprenticeship?
I would like to do an English certificate in England or Australia and then a French certificate in France. Then I will continue with further education, but I am not yet sure of which direction I will take.
